Why We Work?

Walk the Walk: A Study in James
James is for those of us who want God's wisdom and guidance to walk the rough road to Christian maturity.

Happy, Happy, Sad, Sad

Say What? The Hard Sayings of Jesus
People have a lot of different opinions about Jesus. But most everyone agrees that - whatever else - he was a great teacher. But when you actually get down to studying what he said, Jesus had a lot of what we would call hard sayings. Teachings where you have to dig below the surface to get to the real meaning.

By Faith
Contemporary people often speak as if faith and reason are unwavering enemies. But on the contrary, the more we think, the deeper our faith grows. Join us this summer as we explore the essential passage in all the Bible on the topic of faith. You will discover that it is only through Christianity that we can truly make sense of the world we experience.

God at the Movies 2022
Can God possibly speak to us through the latest Hollywood films? At SWFF we believe He can. During our annual series, we will use clips from recent movies to introduce a relevant conversation about life and God. And join us each Friday night, beginning April 22, for a free screening of Sunday’s film.

A Time to Mourn
Do you know how to help people with grief? What to say? What not to say? As a rule, we don't talk about death much in our society. And many people are hurting because of it. We'll look to correct that this Sunday at 9 and 11 AM as we look for healthy ways to correct some of The Myths of Grief.

All You Need is Love
When it comes to religion in America, we don’t agree on much. But there is one idea that almost everyone holds in common; that if there is a God, it is a God of love. But how do we know that? Where does that idea come from? And more importantly, what impact does God’s love have on our love for one another and for this world?

Hidden Christmas
Under Pressure
Most of us have felt squeezed in a variety of ways over these last two strange years. There seems to be a rail of anxiety just below the surface of every issue we face. And yet, while we may be more aware of it at the moment, pressure filled life is not new. Truth is, most of us had already been living with very little margin in our lives when it comes to all kinds of areas from money, to time, to relationships. From the beginning, God has recognized this as one of the critical fault lines of the human race…and He has graciously provided us with a solution.

God at the Movies 2021
Each Sunday we will present a sermon using clips and ideas from a classic film to draw out a biblical truth about God and His Kingdom in our world. (And each Friday preceding the Sunday at 7pm, we will preview that week’s film for free on the big screen in the church auditorium.)

Toxic
Tragically, in recent years, Christians have become accustomed to the uncovering of abuse in our churches. From the national news to local communities, toxic church cultures are leaving souls in their wake and damaging the witness of Jesus in the eyes of the world. What can we do as a congregation to ensure that we always maintain a healthy God-honoring spiritual culture?

To the Romans...
It's been said that no text has played a more crucial role in the history of the church than Paul's letter to the Romans. In every age men and women have been transformed by his inspired words. In 2021 we're going to make an intensive study into this life changing work.
